Back in August 2016, we had a chance to visit with the Anselmo side of the Family. My two aunts, Julia and Lourdes, and my uncle Ernesto were celebrating their birthdays. My aunt Julia celebrated her 70th birthday! Families from California, New Mexico, Nevada, and even Canada came out to celebrate this birthday re-union.
During the party, we played a family trivia contest to guess how many brothers and sisters my aunts and uncle had. They had a big family, and depending who you asked, could be seven, or could be nine siblings!
Family re-unions are a great way to not only celebrate the old generation, but welcome the new generation as well. My aunts and uncle are the roots of the family, but their children, and their children’s children are the branches and leaves that keep the family growing.
